Stand about 4 feet in front of a good size mirror. Yet another source recommended looking at the throat or heart chakra (although women may feel a bit uncomfortable when their chest is stared at, so you may not want to do this) but practice focusing on the different areas until you find one that works for you. Remember, concentration on one spot increases your sensitivity by accumulating the effect of the aura vibration reaching your eyes. The longer you concentrate, the better you will see it. You should see that the background nearby the person is brighter and has a different color than the background further away. Continuing the concentration is most important. After 30 seconds analyze surroundings with your peripheral vision, while still looking at the same spot.Look at this spot for 30 to 60 seconds or longer.Other resources recommend looking a couple inches to the right of the head around the ear or shoulder area. Such a mark in ancient times could mean the invitation to look and see the aura. In some cultures (India) they put a mark on a forehead. This is the location of the third eye or brow chakra. A colored background will change aura colors which complicates things, but you can practice looking at the auras of plants against the blue sky as a background. ![]()
